Analoges Filmmaterial mit modernen Digitalkameras zu digitalisieren, faszieniert die Fachwelt immer mehr. Doch es fehlte bisher eine durchdachte Lösung für diese anspruchsvolle Arbeit um qualitativ hochwertige Ergebnisse zu erhalten. Rotscout hat dafür eine Turn-Key Lösung entwickelt die zudem flexibel für Änderungen ist.

Das Rotscout Repro-System bietet durch exakte 3-Achsen-Einstellung (Kartesisches Prinzip) die Möglichkeit, nicht nur genaue Ausschnitte auszuwählen, sondern auch Filmvorlagen mit überlappendem Versatz in beliebig vielen Abschnitten (Kacheln/Patches) aufzunehmen und mit gängigen Panoramaprogrammen zusammenzufügen (Stitching). Damit lässt sich die hohe Auflösung beispielsweise eines 6 x 7 Dias auch mit Vollformat-, APS- oder MFT-Sensoren erschliessen.

Lichtquellen sind handelsübliche, hochwertige LED Videoleuchten von Litufoto oder GVM mit hohem Farbwiedergabeindex (CRI). Darauf ist eine Lichtmischkammer mit Befestigung für Filmhalter angeordnet. Präzise Filmhalter für gute Filmplanlage sind unerlässlich für qualitativ hochwertige Ergebnisse.

Die zweiteiligen, glaslosen Rotscout Filmhalter stellen durch das Gewicht des Oberteils eine gute Planlage des Films sicher und sind erhältlich für die Formate KB, 4,5x6cm, 6x6cm und 6x7cm (6x8cm und 6x9cm auf Anfrage).

Nicht nur ganze Filmstreifen sondern insbesondere auch einzeln ausgeschnittene Filmstücke (z.B. aus dem Rahmen entnommene Dias) werden damit sehr gut Plan gehalten. Weiterhin sind Halterungen für 5x5cm und 7x7cm Dia-Rahmen erhältlich.

Als Alternative oder Ergänzung zu den Rotscout Filmhaltern können mit einem Adapter außerdem die sehr guten Filmhalter des Herstellers Valoi (valoi.co) verwendet werden. Die Produkte dieses finnischen Unternehemens beruhen auf einem anderem Funktionsprinzip.

Individuelle Lösungen für andere Geräte sind auf Wunsch möglich.

Rotscout Repro-Pod

Scanning anaologue film material with modern digital cameras is rises ever more fascination. That said, a comprehensive approach for this challenging task has been missing to yield high class results.
Rotscout has developed a turn key solution that is also versatile for optional modifications.
The Rotscout repro system with its genuine 3-axis adjustment (cartesian principle) allows not only the exact definition of frame cut-outs but as well the creation of high-res results by the means of patching and stitching segments of the film with establishes panorama applications. E.g. the rich detail of a 67 frame can be accessed with FF, APS or MFT sensor cams.

Lightsources are quality commercial video lights from Litufoto and GVM with high Color Rendition Index (CRI).
On top of this, a light mix chamber with fixing point for film holders is arranged. Precise film holders are essential for high quality results.
The 2-part, glassless Rotscout film holders ensure with a weighted top part a good flatness of the film. Availaible for 24x36 mm, 6x7, 6x6 and 6x4,5 cm (6x8 and 6x9cm on request).
Not only film strips but also single cut out frames (e.g., slides, salvaged from mounts for cleaning and propper scanning) can be accomodated.
Further on, holders for 5x5 and 7x7cm slide frame mounts are available.
An alternative or addition to the Rotscout film holders are the distinguished products offered by the company Valoi (valoi.co) in Finnland. The function follows a different design principle. An adapter is on produced by Rotscout to engange Valoi filmholders with our Repro-Pod.
